Stability tests at BAV Institute for the safety report of cosmetics

The BAV Institute conducts all necessary stability tests required to determine the shelf life of a cosmetic product.

Information on shelf life and stability are part of the safety report, which is mandatory for every new product introduced to the market in accordance with the Cosmetics Regulation EC 1223/2009. Product-specific and in coordination with the customer or safety assessor, specific test parameters and durations are determined. Storage often occurs at 40°C (usually up to three months) to accelerate chemical processes and shorten the test period.

During testing, sensory aspects are considered, as well as chemical or physico-chemical parameters such as pH value, density, viscosity, and microbiological quality according to ISO 17516.

Do you have a new product and your safety assessor is requesting documentation and tests on shelf life and stability? Contact us, we look forward to your message.
