Allergens in food
In 2018, food was extensively tested for allergens again at the CVUA's in Baden-Württemberg. A total of 5625 tests for undeclared allergens were conducted by the four Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Offices of Baden-Württemberg.
Seven samples had to be classified as potentially harmful to health due to detectable allergens. In a "gluten-free" roll, wheat or gluten was detectable in significant amounts (over 1% wheat); a fitness drink based on soy contained increased amounts of milk without corresponding declaration. The same applied to apricot dumplings or pesto pizza with cashew, tofu burger with mustard, wafer sheets with soy, and porridge with wheat.
In our Tentamus laboratories, we regularly conduct allergen testing. We provide you with fast and reliable results.
Our customer advisors are very happy to assist you with any questions.
