BVL publishes report on zoonosis monitoring 2017
In 2017, the regulatory authorities in Germany examined a total of 6,922 food products for the presence of major foodborne pathogens as part of the zoonoses monitoring.
A summary of the report can be found at www.bvl.bund.de, and the complete BVL report is available on the BVL website.
The major pathogens included in the zoonoses report are:
- Salmonella
- Campylobacter
- Listeria monocytogenes
- Shigatoxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC/VTEC/EHEC)
- Yersinia enterocolitica
Additionally, the report extensively discusses the antibiotic resistance status of these bacteria.
