Change REACh – Regulation (EU) 2024/1328 Restriction of cyclic siloxanes

Cyclic siloxanes are ring-shaped organic compounds in which silicon and oxygen are alternately bonded.

The most well-known representatives of this group of substances are:

- Cyclotetrasiloxane (D4)

- Cyclopentasiloxane (D5)

- Cyclohexasiloxane (D6)

The Regulation (EU) 2024/1328 prohibits, effective from June 6, 2026, the mentioned substances in quantities of >0.1% to be placed on the market as a substance or as a constituent of other substances or in mixtures. Generally, from June 6, 2027, all cosmetics may no longer be marketed if all three cyclic siloxanes D4, D5, and D6 are contained in >0.1%.
