Current developments regarding African Swine Fever (ASF)
On both a national and European level, continuous efforts are being made to further develop and maintain preventive measures against ASF.
In December, the following decisions and regulations were published:
- Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1856 of 27 November 2018 amending the Annex to Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU concerning animal health control measures relating to African swine fever in certain Member States (OJ L 302/78 of 28.11.2018; Annex 1);
- Notice 1. of the Commission Implementing Decision of 10 October 2018 amending the Annex to Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU concerning animal health control measures to combat African swine fever in certain Member States; 2. of the Commission Implementing Decision of 18 October 2018 amending the Annex to Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU concerning animal health control measures to combat African swine fever in certain Member States and 3. of the Commission Implementing Decision of 30 October 2018 amending the Annex to Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU concerning animal health control measures to combat African swine fever in certain Member States (BAnzAT 26.11.2018 Bl; Annex 2);
- First law to amend the Animal Health Act, the Federal Hunting Act and the Renewable Energy Sources Act of 14.11.2018 (BGBl. I. p 1850 of 20.11.2018). The publication can be viewed here;
- Notice of the new version of the Animal Health Act of 21.11.2018 (BGBl. I. p 1938 of 27.11.2018).
