Current salmonella outbreak in chocolate still not clarified
As triggers of gastrointestinal diseases, Salmonella play a significant role worldwide. Frequent carriers of Salmonella are especially poultry meat, eggs, and pork.
Currently, there is also a major outbreak of Salmonella contamination, with 185 cases of illness (so-called salmonellosis) in twelve countries involving various chocolate products. Responsible for this are products of the "Kinder" brand.
In the current case, there are still numerous uncertainties. The investigations by the public prosecutor's office are still ongoing, and a specific delimitation of the affected products by the manufacturer has only been partially achieved.
