Detection of declared, valuable active ingredients in cosmetics

Cosmetics are often advertised with value-adding ingredients, with the percentage content in the product often explicitly stated, which can be a purchasing incentive for consumers. Hyaluronic acid, panthenol, tocopherol (Vitamin E), allantoin, niacinamide, coenzyme Q10, glycerin, and urea are some examples.

Claims made for cosmetic products must comply with the requirements of the Claims Regulation (Regulation (EU) 655/2013). According to the annex of this regulation, these claims are subject to truthfulness, meaning that a value-adding active ingredient must be present (in the appropriate concentration) in the product when its percentage is claimed.

The BAV Institute and its Tentamus laboratory partners conduct the necessary tests for you, check the content of active substances used, and thus ensure the quality of your cosmetic products. Whether these tests are conducted as part of formulation development, stability testing, or approval testing, the detection is carried out using the most modern measurement methods.

Of course, we also test other substances for you. Do not hesitate to contact us - we will be happy to provide you with an offer.
