EFSA completes full risk assessment of aspartame - In BAV Newsletter 04/2014

The EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) has published an opinion on the comprehensive risk assessment of aspartame. The authority concludes that aspartame and its degradation products formed in the body are safe for human consumption within the permissible daily intake (ADI of 40 mg/kg body weight/day).
