EuropeanRapidAlertSystemRAPEXisnowcalledSafetyGate

The European Rapid Alert System for possible serious health hazards originating from non-food products within the EU has been renamed from RAPEX to Safety Gate. This only affects the name, the operation and functionalities of the portal remain unchanged.

Through this portal, individual member states report unsafe or potentially harmful products. In addition to consumer goods, toys, and many other categories, cosmetic products are also regularly reported. Common reports in this regard include:

• Microbiological concerns such as the presence of potentially pathogenic germs
• Non-compliance with DIN EN ISO 17516
• Banned chemical residues and contaminants
