Extended declaration of fragrance ingredients in cosmetics according to Regulation (EU) 2023/1545

In cosmetic products, in addition to the term fragrance in the ingredients list, other fragrances must be declared separately as soon as they exceed an amount of 10 mg/kg (leave-on products) or 100 mg/kg (rinse-off products) in the final product.

With the Regulation VO (EU) 2023/1545, the list of substances to be declared has been significantly expanded to over 80 substances or natural extracts. Products that do not comply with this new regulation may initially be placed on the market until August 2026. The general availability on the market will no longer be permitted from August 2028.

Newly regulated substances include, for example, vanillin, menthol, or camphor.

Make your products ready for the new regulation. We test both final products and raw materials that may introduce allergenic fragrances (e.g., perfumes, natural extracts, essential oils, etc.) for the new (and already existing) declarable substances.
