FindingcausesforcontaminationwithListeriamonocytogenes

Since Listeria monocytogenes are ubiquitous bacteria commonly found in our environment, it is often very difficult to retroactively identify the cause of food contamination.

The BAV INSTITUT offers a method to compare different strains of Listeria spp. or Listeria monocytogenes using the latest laboratory technology. This allows for the comparison of strains from end products with those in raw materials or environmental investigations to determine if they are the same. These analyses are conducted using MALDI-TOF and are evaluated with special software. The results are available the same day after isolation.

This enables quick and reliable determination of contamination sources and the prompt implementation of preventive measures.

The ability to compare strains of isolated microorganisms using the methods established at the BAV INSTITUT extends to other germs, such as Salmonella, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, and more.
