Guidelines for Informing the Public about Health-Hazardous Foods

The Länder Working Group for Consumer Protection (LAV) has updated its guideline concerning the information of the public regarding health-endangering foods. The aim of the guideline is to promote a common understanding of the legal provisions between authorities and food manufacturers, ensuring that consumers are informed as quickly as possible in the event of health-endangering foods.

The guideline includes exemplary scenarios as well as a template for a press release and text suggestions for public warnings.

This is a purely advisory guideline, not to be understood as a binding regulation.
