A total of 50 hand creams were examined in detail in the current November issue. The good news: half of the products received the grade "very good". However, grades unsatisfactory or poor were also awarded. Factors leading to the downgrade included, among others:

• Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, such as Diazolidinyl Urea
• Artificial musk compounds
• PEG and PEG derivatives
• MOAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons)
• Parabens
• Fragrance Lilial

Regularly check your products and raw materials for the presence of certain critical substances and contaminants.
