InterimReport by Foodwatch on "TOPF SECRET"

Foodwatch has published an interim report on the online platform "TOPF SECRET" and considers it a success. According to the initiators, since mid-January 2019, 15,000 citizens have requested and partially published the hygiene reports of 26,000 restaurants, bakeries, and other food businesses from the responsible authorities on the online platform "TOPF SECRET".

The BLL also issued another press release on 05/22/19. It emphasizes that the information requests under the Consumer Information Act (VIG) must be reviewed and processed by the surveillance authorities according to the applicable legal regulations. Therefore, the principle "care before speed" applies, as the publications on "TOPF SECRET" are not official publications where there is imminent danger.
