Investigations by CVUA Stuttgart on Residues and Contaminants in Fresh Fruit

In 2024, the CVUA Stuttgart tested a total of 856 samples of fresh fruit from conventional cultivation for residues of pesticides, pesticide metabolites, and contaminants. Compared to the previous year, pesticide contamination slightly worsened. 5% of the tested samples exceeded the maximum levels for one or more pesticides, with nine of these samples presenting pesticide values that pose a health risk. Exotic fruits, particularly pomegranates, but also table grapes, were particularly noticeable. Additionally, the active ingredient acetamiprid was frequently detected.
