ISO 8124-12 on microbiological safety of toys

The ISO 8124 Part 12 regulates the safety of toys with regard to microbiology. This standard contains specific requirements for microorganisms and associated limit values. The requirements concern the following parameters, among others:

• TAMC (Total Aerobic Microbial Count) and TYMC (Total Yeast and Mold Count)
• Bile-salt tolerant gram-negative bacteria
• Other microorganisms: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp, Candida albicans
