Further Recalls Due to Ethylene Oxide in Dietary Supplements

Since November 2020, numerous products have been recalled in the EU due to residues of ethylene oxide and 2-chloroethanol.

Last month, dietary supplements were increasingly affected. Ethylene oxide is used to sterilize components of dietary supplements. Ethylene oxide can enter the final product through raw materials such as plant extracts as well as through capsule casings.
