New Substances In ECHA Liste - Cosmetics
The ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) has recently published an updated list of substances or substance groups that may require regulation. It is important to note that this step does not necessarily lead to a re-evaluation. Rather, this list (Assessment of Regulatory Needs) provides an outlook on possible future regulations.
Newly added were, among others:
- Long-chain, aliphatic, quaternary ammonium compounds
- Certain bromide salts
- Quaternized alcohol amines and their esters
- Inorganic carboxylates
- Esters of aliphatic, monocyclic alcohols
These potential restrictions then apply to cosmetics, but also to other consumer products.
