New opinions of the SCCS on a total of five cosmetic ingredients

Recently, new evaluations/opinions were issued by the EU Scientific Committee (SCCS) regarding the following five cosmetic ingredients:

• Propylparaben - SCCS/1623/20 via Link
• Resorcinol - SCCS/1619/20 via Link
• Benzophenone-3 - SCCS/1625/20 via Link
• Octocrylene - SCCS/1627/21 via Link
• Aluminum - SCCS/1626/20 (Supplement to Opinion SCCS/1613/19) via Link 

These opinions were mainly published due to the classification of the substances as potential endocrine disruptors (eD). The SCCS confirms the safety of the used ingredients if the respective maximum limits are observed, with Benzophenone-3 being considered unsafe at the current concentration of use.
