NewsfromSwitzerland:RevisionoftheFoodLaw

In Switzerland, after the comprehensive revision of the entire Swiss food law in 2017, another revision (Stretto 3) is pending.

Reasons for the revision include further alignment with EU law and its development since the adoption of the Food Act in 2014, as well as new regulations on tolerances for genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and a new maximum level model for vitamins and minerals.

The structure of Swiss food law that came into force in May 2017 from the Largo project is to be retained.

Anyone wishing to learn more about the status of Swiss food law can contact the BLL e.V. or directly on the pages of the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA).
