Pesticides in grapes

Fruits such as grapes from non-EU countries are often contaminated with pesticides. Tests on 64 grapes revealed partly high pesticide levels - especially in grapes from Turkey. Nine grapes exceeded the legal maximum levels and are considered harmful to health.

The maximum residue levels of pesticides in food are regulated in the EU by Regulation (EC) No. 396/2005. If these maximum levels are exceeded or prohibited pesticides are included, these foods are considered not marketable in the EU.

In our Tentamus laboratories, we regularly conduct pesticide testing. We provide you with fast and reliable results.

Our customer advisors are very happy to assist with any questions you may have.
