Recall of raw milk cheese – Detection of STEC

A manufacturer is recalling its raclette cheese from several batches due to a positive detection of STEC.

Certain toxin-producing strains of Escherichia coli, such as STEC (Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli), VTEC (verotoxin-producing Escherichia coli) and EHEC (enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli), can cause serious foodborne illnesses. The presence of these pathogenic Escherichia coli strains in ready-to-eat foods is undesirable and poses a potential health risk. Positive findings regularly occur in raw milk cheese.

In our Tentamus laboratories, we regularly conduct tests for STEC and other pathogenic germs. We provide you with fast and reliable results.

For questions, our customer advisors are very happy to assist you.
