Recalls in the Safety Gate Portal Cosmetics - February 2025
The EU's Safety Gate rapid alert system provides information about potentially harmful cosmetics that do not comply with Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009. In the month of February, a total of 62 products were classified as "serious risk." Reasons for this included, among others: • Prohibited fragrance Butylphenyl Methylproprional (Lilial/BMHCA) • Prohibited fragrance 3-Cyclohex-3-ene-1-carbaldehyde (HICC) • Detection of corticosteroids • Prohibited substances, e.g., D4 and Methylisothiazolinone in leave-on products, nitrosamines) • Microbial contamination by Burkholderia cepacia In Safety Gate, recalls can be specifically filtered by product type, publication date, and type of hazard (microbiological/chemical). Have your products and raw materials regularly tested for microbiological and chemical residues. The experts of the BAV Institute assist you in selecting the test parameters. Source: www.ec.europa.eu
