Recalls in the Safety Gate Portal Cosmetics - December 2024

The rapid alert system Safety Gate of the EU informs about potentially harmful cosmetics that do not comply with Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009.

In the month of December, a total of 209 products were classified as "serious risk." 

Reasons for this included, among others:

• Prohibited fragrance Butylphenyl Methylproprional (Lilial / BMHCA)
• Prohibited fragrance 3-Cyclohex-3-ene-1-carbaldehyde (HICC)
• Microbial contamination with e.g., Pseudomonas paraeruginosa
• Detection of PFAS
• Detection of lead in high concentrations

In the Safety Gate, one can filter by type of products, publication date, and type of recall (microbiological/chemical).

Have your products and raw materials regularly tested for microbiological and chemical residues. The experts at BAV Institute will assist you in selecting the testing parameters.
