Recalls in the Safety Gate Portal Cosmetics - January 2025

The EU's rapid alert system Safety Gate provides information on potentially harmful cosmetics that do not comply with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.

In January, a total of 221 products were classified as "serious risk."

Reasons for this included, among others:

Prohibited fragrance Butylphenyl Methylpropional (Lilial / BMHCA)
Prohibited fragrance 3-Cyclohex-3-ene-1-carbaldehyde (HICC)
Detection of corticosteroids
Detection of hydroquinone
Detection of mercury in high concentrations

In the Safety Gate, filtering by product type, publication date, and type of recall (microbiological/chemical) is possible.
