Regulation (EU) 2024/2564 amending Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

The EU Commission published the 22nd adaptation to the CLP Regulation (No. 1272/2008) at the end of September 2024. This will come into force on October 20, 2024, and will be directly applicable and binding as of May 1, 2026, at the latest. 

Those substances classified as CMR substances in the new regulation will automatically be transferred to cosmetics law via an omnibus regulation and included in Annex II of the prohibited substances according to Regulation (EC) 1223/2009. 

Newly included are, among others:

• Hexyl salicylate
• 2-Phenylphenol
• n-Hexane
