The BAV Institute – Market leader in preservative efficacy testing of cosmetics

In the state-of-the-art microbiology laboratory of the BAV Institute, numerous tests of cosmetic end products and raw materials are carried out to meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009. Clients include the cosmetic industry, contract manufacturers, and retailers. 

BAV has special expertise and many years of experience in testing the adequate preservation of products, conducted with the so-called preservation challenge test (abbreviated: KBT). This test is usually conducted in accordance with the ISO 11930 standard.

In 2021, we were able to quickly and reliably conduct more than 10,000 such tests for our clients. This makes us proud, and we would like to thank all our clients and partners for their trust in our work.

With this number of tests, the BAV Institute is certainly one of the leading testing laboratories in the German-speaking region and Europe.

Furthermore, with these tests and many other microbiological tests in our accredited and GMP-certified laboratory, we contribute significantly to product and consumer protection.
