First Quarter 2025 – already 2,500 Preservative Effectiveness Tests at the BAV

In the first quarter of 2025, the BAV Institute has already conducted approximately 2,500 preservative challenge tests (PCTs). These tests are required for cosmetic products, as well as pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

We conduct tests according to the specifications of ISO 11930, as well as the Ph.Eur. and USP.

Preservative challenge tests are mandatory for cosmetic products under the framework of the Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 and are part of the safety report. We also offer this report as well as other regulatory services (e.g., notification) – all from a single source!
